Another late night tire kicking thought, if you had a let's say, 2004 ram cummins 2500 but a 2wd, could you still use a loft kit like rough country or one of those? I know they have differential drops and stuff in some of those kits so I was hair curious? I know lifted 2wd aren't always "cool" by some truck guy standards but just humor me. Thanks!

Nothing wrong with a lifted 2wd in my book.

If you are using springs/spacers to lift the front I can't see where there would be much different in the kits. Lifting the rear should be identical.

The front suspension is completely different. You'll need a lift kit for a 4x2.
