Good afternoon all!

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 QCSB 4x4. I'm looking to get some new tires soon, I've found a few that I like on tirerack.com but I would like the forum's opinion on the brands! I'd like stay close to 1,000 as possible but can consider higher prices. I am in Texas weather, drive like the average commuter and I may go mudding about 5-6 times a year(nothing serious). I like a nice aggressive look even though I don't mud very often. I've heard great things about Nitto tires, what do yall think of them? Any other recommendations?

The tires I've found on tire rack include:

**** Cepek - Fun Country...can someone provide some insight on this brand? Never heard of them. I love the look and the pricing $956

Wrangler - MT/R with Kevlar..$1,120.68

Firestone - Destination M/T..$851(really good deal with rebate)

What do yall think of the 3 tires listed above?

Thanks!

I had the **** cepeks, they wear fast, work good tho.

The Goodyear wrangler mtr wear well and worked great on my old truck.

The Firestone destinations my dad had and a couple of my buddies and they all loved them.

So I'd say you'd be good with either the firestones or the goodyears. I have the nitto trail grapplers currently and love them. They wear, ride and work awesome. I've got 22,000 miles on them and they're about half tread yet.

I'm running Mickey Thompson Deegan 38s. They're a newer mud tire designed to be pretty good on road too. I only have 1000 miles on them but so far so good. They don't hum like other aggressive tires I've had and traction is good on/off road for me so far. I can't attest to how they wear yet unfortunately. Personally I think they're a very nice looking tire

They may be out of your price range but I love my Trail Grapplers. Good on or off road, quiet on the highway, look great, and wear pretty well. I've only got about 1-2000 miles on mine so far but I love em.

But from your list Id go with the wranglers or firestones.

TR is way too expensive IMO, I'd check with Discount Tires.

Brand wise I can recommend NITTO, love 'em.

Toyo Open Country MT is another tough contender. Pricey yet they can perform well off the road.
