Who here has after market torsion keys? is it worth it to buy them or just as good to crank the factory ones. Good brands? bad ones? Been looking to get rid of the factory rake.

I had torsion keys from skyjacker on my 04, just cranked my wifes 05. I vote cranking the bars and replaceind the shocks with the 100 you save not buying the new keys.

no need for aftermarket keys... they do the same damn thing as the stockers.. you can go higher with lift keys, but then your cv angles are hideous

if you have enough adjustment with your stock keys no need for aftermarket. Mine i was only able to go 3-1/4 turns which didn't level it but raised the front enough that it looked much better.

When i do crank them, should i and it is a good idead to crank them all the way and max out the keys? Or try to leave some adjustment and make sure bolth sides ar even? Will i need an alignment afterwards? And so i buy shocks for a 2 in lift?

i would only crank them as far as it takes to level the truck. You definitely want to have both sides even. Yes you will to have an alignment done after you crank them.

Put the front of the truck on jack stands and turn the bolts 3-4 complete turns and put the truck back on the ground. Put the truck in reveres and move it back a few feet, then back foward a few and then measure. You have to do that to let the sys settle and sit right. Normaly the drivers side will take a quarter or half more turns. Soak the adjustting bolts before you do it and get a socket and mark a line on it for reference.

Start with 3 and see where your at. To measure and make sure the truck is level from side to side I measured from top of the tire dead center to the bottom of the fender and that will be the easiest way.

Yeah long as you write down the amount of turns and return it back you should be ok. Depending on if you hit a bump tonight or not you might hear and feel the shock fully extend and stop. You should put new front shocks on if you decide to keep it up which you will prob like. If you still have the oem ones from the factory then get a whole new set front and back.
