How big of a deal it is to replace the upper control arm? I have to do my drivers side. Should i do both? And do i have to bring it to a shop to get it re aligned? Or can i mark it and that's close enough?

Replace them both and be done with it. They just unbolt from the frame and you just get a ball joint separator (picklefork) and separate ball joint from knuckle. Are the really worn out and sloppy or just worn? If they're just worn then you should be good, but if they got a good bit of slop then I would recommend an alignment.

I think worn. There is a bit of play. So just make sure the bolts are in the exact same place....? I have done all the other ball joints...

If it's just a little play then you should be good. Just take the 2 bolts at the frame out and separate the ball joint, then reverse.

For sure alignment . Especially if your lifted . You may not feel but your tires will start to wear funny. That will put small amount of stress on everything. Over time it could turn into a big deal . I would check your outer tie rods during this process too.

It's cake, 90% of the time you don't need a separator just tap the bolt and it pops right out of the knuckle. I'd suggest upgrading to at least a movetec wile your there though.
