New to rams but not lifting and offroading. My truck is a 08 1500 2wd QC, I'm looking at running 35x12.50r20 trepador's on 20x10 moto metal link wheels -24 offset. I was originally going to do a 7" cst lift with custom made 6" leaf springs in the rear instead of blocks, a 3" PA body lift, and run 37" tires. However I've only got the little V6 in it and wouldn't be able to regear high enough to keep it from totally bogging down so decided to step down to 35's. My question is I've seen some pics with just a 3" body lift clearing the tires and others with a 4-6" suspension lift to clear them, so if I can clear them with no rubbing with just a 3" body lift that would save me money to use on upgrades elsewhere. If anyone on here could chime in and maybe post some pics of your or someone else's 2wd on 35's would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link to the wheels

Or possibly these wheels from stazworks for the center design

Then here's a link to the tires I'm thinking of running

I have a 7" maxtrac lift on my 2007 2wd. 17x10 wheels and 35x12.50 general grabbers. I can clear 37s with this set up but I like my 35s.

Sweet looking truck, was kind of hoping that a 3" body lift would be able to clear it as that would free up alot of money for other mods. But that just means I will do other little things like anzo head/tail lights, light bar, things like that while saving money for the lift/wheels/gears.

Thanks for the pix it definitely gives a good visual reference for lift versus tire size.

Not sure which V6 you got cause was never aware of a QC V6 but I run 35s on a 7in lift and I can run with the big guys here my motor has 0 issues with my tires and I haven't regeared yet. d98925e0cc1e69a63b39d6337342e0af.jpg

I've got a 2008 1500 quad cab SXT with 3.7 V6, I know the factory tires on it are 265/70r17 which is close to a 32" tire. Been looking online trying to figure out exactly which rear axle I have to maybe figure out what factory gears I have as what I can see on randy's ring and pinion it looks like the highest they go is 4.88. I have looked and likely have either 3.21 or possibly 3.55 gears in it now. I've seen alot of guys on here talk about regearing to 4.11 greatly improves the responsiveness of the smaller engine so with that being said it would seem that regearing to 4.56 with 35's would be a good combo with 4.88 being a little steep for them but maybe better suited for 37's.

My dream tire would be 37x12.50r20 Maxxis Trepador but don't think even with regearing, and reprogramming the comp would allow the engine to run it without seriously dropping my fuel mileage (18mpg average now).

On my '08 I put 35's on it with just a leveling kit and I think it rubbed a little bit on full lock, just barely though. I think you could put the 3" body lift on and run it to see since I was only on a 2" level.

Then I put a rough country 6" under it and it rode great, looked great with zero rub.

If you run a less aggressive tire a 6 inch lift will make your tires look dinky. Here is my '05.

I think you'd be set with just the body lift tbh
