So where should I look to find a good lift kit? I want to go somewhere in the neighborhood of 7" while leveling it out at the same time.

That's not a bad idea. So what are peoples thoughts on body lifts? I've always thought they were a cheap way to lift a truck...

I was looking at some body lifts that say you can no longer tow with them installed. I can't loose my towability. LOL

Is there a good 8" Suspension lift out there? I've got torsion bars and what I've found is mostly for coil springs.

I am willing to bet that you can tow with the body lift.

in fact...........I know you can.

George (RubberFrog) tows his boat with his 6+3 lifted truck.

I guess it depends on what BL you get?

Well I think the towing will depend on where you tow. If you tow from the bumper with a BL it's not a good idea. But towing from the bumper isn't a good idea anyway. The tow hitch attaches to the frame so you sure can still pull. I have a buddy that pulls cars to the shredder on a weekly basis with a 2in BL.

So you can still tow with a BL. Now depending on the height of lift you want to go with. If you go with all suspension remember ride quality made be at a premium. That's one reason many buys do a BL to not sacrifice ride quality. But to get 7 inches of lift a 4 : 3 Combo wouldn't be bad. As far as leveling it that is where you may have to get more than one kit. Like a 6 in the front and 4 in the rear. If I'm wrong someone please correct me. Each lift has it's own perks. Some people like certain brands. But you won't get the lift you want from just turning your torsion keys. I think you're gonna get all new keys and bars.

From what I have heard zone isn't bad nor is PA Lifts. I have a zone level kit on mine and I enjoy it. I have heard horror stories from 4wheel parts. So I'm not sure where else off the top of my head. You could look at ebay but I'm not sure if I would trust an ebay lift.

Thanks Tony for clearing that up. I'm pretty new to the lifting world, I've always been the one to bag and body drop stuff! LOL

I'm liking the idea of a 3"BL and 4" suspension lift.

It's not that bad. You can probably do the body lift in your drive way with a few buddies. I know there is a review on a zone BL I'll have to find it for ya. The suspension isn't too bad either. Now if you are really big on towing I would suggest maybe a set of bags for the rear to help with loads.

Oh btw Welcome to the forum if you didn't already get a formal welcoming. lol

Now I knwo your a 4 by but here is what matt did with his truck. He went with Zone for his BL.

There are other guys on here too that have BL's on their trucks. I'm sure they will chime in soon and give you their 2 cents.

Okay, I've been looking into body lifts. I don't see one for a 2005 on the Zone website. What does PA stand for or what is their website?

Is PA Performance Accessories? If so, I found them. WOW, they are pricey there. Are their kits really worth the $450 price tag? I wish Zone had a kit for my truck.

keep in mind we might be getting a suspension vendor here on RF in a few weeks .
Might have some discount codes for RF members .
And this vendor sells suspension lifts and body lifts from all manufactures .

And also , you will need bigger tires and to pull them big tires you will need gears and maybe a programmer .
