I originally got a 7.5" 36w led bar for reverse lights but realized there was not place to mount it out if the way. I ended up ordering two of these 10w cubes off of eBay for $30

They measure about 2" and can be mounted individually(mount on right) or linked together (piece to the left) to form a bar

Here's the reverse lights I've been annoyed with for some time (probably better off with incandescent over these)

I found a perfect size hole in the frame rail behind the bumper to mount them without any drilling or extra brackets but it tucked them to far underneath and the bumper blocked a lot of the light

I wasn't happy with them there so I made some brackets and moved them just below the bumper on either side of the hitch

Another comparison, this is about 20ft from the garage door

I showed my sister, told her not to look into them when I turned them on and she did

Very happy with them and being able to see backing up now

Nice. I bet those would back off idiot tailgators too if you hooked them up to a switch.

Those came out great. You can never have too much light or for that matter lights.

Those turned out great!! Might have to do the same on my truck. I love playing with lights and am always looking for more places to add them.

Any chance you have a closer picture showing your bracket and how you mounted them?

are you going to post a link to these lights? they look like they work pretty good. i know i could use some auxiliary backup lights on my 81 that use less power. the extra 110W of backup lights i have added to the truck work good but don't agree with my alternator when i have everything on.

To mount them I lifted the bumper pad and ran bolts through existing holes on either side of the hitch. I used 6" pieces of angle on both sides to push them out so I could still get the receiver pin in and out and chains on and off the hitch
I'll try to have my girlfriend take better pictures but it might be a while

I'll post links this evening

how do you have them wired up? Your setup is awesome and would work great especially at night where I live

if you are talking about just the reverse bulbs in the actual tail light housing all you need is the bulbs..

I used the CREE ones from retro-solutions

Yahoo

The link works but says yahoo for some reason

The ones korby05 posted above are for the 09+ trucks. The ones I linked below are what you will need.

I have these in both my trucks and they work great.

I hardwired them into the trailer wiring harness, it was the white wire with green tracer
I believe for earlier models its a purple wire with black tracer

I'll probably relay a switch to them eventually
