Hey all.

Just bought a clean 2007 SLT Hemi last week with gangster ass 22" rims.

Both upper ball joint are wearing out, and my mechanic said that the 22s were the culprit, and I don't really want these wheels anyway.

Tried to find concrete info on what stock wheels were offered for this model year, as 20" wheels would seem nice, and still fill the gap nicely.

Were 20" wheels offered for this trim? If so, I wouldn't be hesitant to revert back to factory.

So with that being said, if the wheels were offered in 20", whats the best tire size for overall ride comfort and appearance?

Your truck has the factory 02-05 20s aka "flower petals"

These are the 06-08 factory 20s, to answer the op the 22s sure will help in premature wear on the front suspension. You can usually find a deal on Craigslist, tho the factory 20s in pretty much any style are pricy. Any factory 20" ram wheel will fit your 07 btw

Just FYI those are 02-05 wheels, these are the correct wheels for 06-08. I prefer the wheels you have because they don't have that plastic overlay.

What 22s do you have?

I bought a set of 20" 08' wheels for my 05' Ram. These are by far the best looking wheels for the Ram IMO. I couldn't find an aftermarket rim I liked more than these. I'll be moving up to a 295/60/20 shortly, running 265's right now.

As far as factory selection yeah I believe the 06-08 20" wheels are the nicest looking but the second I noticed that they were just plastic chrome covers over top of a plain old wheel, I could never look at them the same again lol

Good thing not all 06-08 wheels are chrome clads lol. I'm pretty sure it was the same as 02-05, **** they make chrome clads on the 4th gen wheels. An it's not just dodge that does this LOL

I've been thinking about taking my clads off my wheels and sanding and polishing them but it's a ton of work

Yeah I don't know why they do that crap. Mine is a Laramie with pretty much every option, wasn't a cheap truck. I get it home and start looking at the wheels, I was like these things are just plastic chrome covers! From that point on I was saving up for my fuel wheels and 35s lol

As far as I know there aren't any factory chrome wheels for the 06-08 trucks that aren't chrome clads. I was pretty sure you either got the chrome clads, or the regular old alloy looking wheels that are underneath the chrome clads. I could be wrong but that's what I thought

Yeah they are plastic, you can get the alloy painted ones as well in this style. I don't mind the plastic, I had many alloy wheels that pitted and peeled the finish off, especially where I am and the winter conditions. At least these wont do that anymore, they just sound cheap when you touch them.. and look at them...and tap them...:roflsquared:

I damn near had a meltdown when I got my brand new 2011 home and realized I had $500 hubcaps. I got over it though. Never had any problems with the "chrome clad" wheels.
Had the 20's on my 11 and currently have the 17's on my '02.

17's are a perfect size btw...very versatile.
