Hey guys new to the forum, I would like to put different headlights on my truck and I really like the halo look but I hear there's lots of problems with switching to led or halogen bulbs. Was wondering if anyone has done it or has any suggestions on a brand to go or any other options, anything would help. Thanks
Kyle.

Read the past few pages of the "What'd you do to your 3rd gen" in the general section. Demon-Hemi has a few good pics and info in there about this topic. You could also PM him for specific Q's.

Here's what I did. I bought la pair of cheap halo lights off Amazon for about 100. Cracked then open, replaced the junk led rings with some cob LED rings that are way brighter. Then I took out the reflectors that were in the high beam spot and replaced them with projectors. Sealed it all up and now I have projectors for high and low along with a super bright halo around each projector. If you want I can get you some pics of the final product.

Really depends on the budget. We do a lot of custom lights here at RetroShop (RetroShop.us - Custom Lighting) - but they are made to your spec, not an off the shelf item. We retrofit in Morimoto projectors, add in Morimoto HIDs, halos if you'd like, etc.

Hit me up if you are interested! Email is best (linked in sig!) TY

Holy crap, I would need a second job to afford those. I did mine on my own and finished it for around 300, including separate 55w HID kits for high and low beams.

Of course, someone doing their own can do them cheaper than me. :word:

Thats with any custom work. Glad yours came out the way you wanted, I get countless emails / calls / texts with the "tried it myself", or "my buddy did it". :favorites13:

Gosh I just couldn't ever imagine paying 900 for a set of headlights. Seems silly to me when you can build them for a third of that.

Of course I have my generic CCFL Spyder halos which looks great day and night. However they aren't white or blue LED bulbs they're halogen. But for $260 a set they're cheap, haven't had any problems and they look great

Any experience with the Ebay black halos? They range from 115-135 and appear to be the same or similar. I'm looking to pick up a set that is as close as possible to the OEM ones they put on the blackout Express. There are like 7 or 8 gajillion listings for these lights for 02-05 Rams. Seems like more aftermarket light s made than trucks to put them on!
