Wondering if that stuff sticks to stainless steel or chrome? I am not a fan of how they look and would like to paint them black or graphite. Thought about bedliner first but was told it would come off.

Plastidip sticks chrome. I dipped my nerf bars and fender trim on my 2nd Gen and it held up. I had to touch it up maybe once over the course of a year.

Looks amazing! Where did you guys get it, and how did you prep the bars?

Got mine at Home Depot and the only prep I did was to make sure that the bars were clean...that's it.

My buddy plasti dipped his wheels/rims on his Lightning, and they look great and are holding up fine... Of course they don't get walked or stepped on...

Did you guys dip the plastic portion that gets stepped on? I have attempted taping it off but it has not worked. If it holds up on the plastic I will redo ...

Did you plasti dip the whole bar, including the steps themselves? Or just the chrome part?

I did just chrome but ended up peeling them, overall they held up pretty good, one day I peeled them with the intention of redoing them and never did...

I went another way and PAINTED the black step parts as well as each end in a colour very close to my body colour. Have fun.

My chrome nerfs are holding up okay, but in a year or two it'll be either black-out or plasti-dip in a color of my choosing.

The good thing about plasti-dip is that it pretty much sticks to everything. And comes off pretty easy. I did all the decals on my 03 with dip and they actually turned out really good.
