I would try some double sided tape. Or you can pick up automotive adhesive at the auto parts store, its what I used for my grille emblem.

i tried a two part epoxy but since the caps are under pressure to lift it didn't hold. Is a standard auto adhesive stronger than that?

I am not sure then since they are warped and bending up. Clamp them and try to leave on for awhile to see if it helps correct it.

Mine popped up too. Double sided tape held but I got my tonneau cover now so don't know how long it would have lasted.

I had that same problem on my 2nd gen, I tried everything too! Double sided tape didnt work, automotive adhesive didnt work either.... if the JB weld for plastic doesnt work, I would just screw them in and call it good. Or you could just remove them and put roll on bedliner in its place

This probably won't help your cause but mine are the aluminum diamond plate and when the corners flared up on those I had to take them off and physically bend the corners down. I made the angle less than 90* so when I reinstalled them they had no chance of bending upwards. I wonder if you could take them off and carefully using a heat gun, take away some of that angle and shape those corners back down. Just brainstorming here.
