I have an 07 quad cab, hemi, 4x4 - and I'm looking for a grille cover for the winter. Everything I find is for diesel, and says diesel only.

Any sources for a similar cover for us gassers?

TIA

Is it really even needed? In extremely cold weather the thermostat should keep closed, thus keeping the engine warm. At least thats what makes sense to me.

Might sound silly, but cardboard...you can paint it black to disguise it....

AWE, we have the same problem with the first gen S10's on cold nights...even in our Florida cool weather the 2.8's would struggle to reach 165 degrees for the CTS to tell the ECM to adjust the fuel mixture, thus making the engine run rich....

I use an unassembled "Office" box lid from Staples. It slides in perfectly in front of the rad and I add two tie wraps at the top in the Rad Frame holes along the Top, but this is only required up here when its colder than -35 cause at 60/70 miles an hour the wind is a killer, that said I mix my Mopar Coolant 60/40 which gives me -52. The e-fan helps too in Winter as the truck warms faster!

They will say diesel only for the most part because of our intercooler.

The Mopar cover attaches to the grill. Some of the aftermarket ones don't; the connect to the intercooler supports.

Plexi-glass works great too ... $6 from Home Depot :D

The reason most diesel's run them is we run so cool anyhow ... the 30 degree weather pushing on the motor keeps us even colder. It's just so we can build enough heat to warm the cab :)

If you're not seeing normal operating temps and it's not -15 degreee ... there might be another issue for a Hemi.

But back to the original question ... look at how they mount. Also make sure that they are adjustable. You will find if the wind changes that you'll want to be able to quickly crack it open and let in a little more air.

my engine has NO trouble producing heat even in -30F. I run a stock t-stat and according to my AI gauge, the coolant temp never drops below 204 once it warms up (which is pretty dang quick)

My truck takes about 4 or 5 miles or around 10-15 min to warm up in about 30 degree weather. Is that the norm for our trucks? Its annoying that it isnt faster because my heat isnt hot until the temp gauge is at the normal half way point.

(Sorry for the thread jack)
