Hello all,
I am looking for a 20" x 8" or 9" 5 on 5" factory 1500 spare wheel. Is there any info on what year trucks came with these 20" spare wheels? I have called a couple of wrecking yards and they seemed to have a problem with cross referencing years. They wanted to look for the wheel for each year at a time and I wasn't sure what years these wheels were available. Seems like maybe '02-'06?? I've only personally seen '02 and '03 trucks that had them.

Thanks for any help!!

Nik

I work for LKQ and looking them up seems like 02-05 for the 20x8 spare from what they've been inventoried from. It would be 5x5.5 bolt pattern also not 5 on 5, Jeep's have 5x5.

pretty much since 2002 or 2003 till current year the Rams mostly 1500's had 20" wheels. There has been a few 3rd gen rams that have put 4th gen wheels on. I think there was at 1 time a 2nd gen that put the 20" wheel on also.

I believe the OP was trying to figure out specifically what year actually came with the 20" spare because most of the later models actually have a 17" spare even though they have 20" alloys.

Wermbang is the member with the 3rd gen 20's on his 2nd gen you were thinking of, sharp looking truck he's got.

Whoops! Yes, I meant 5 on 5.5". I don't know if the wrecking yard that I spoke with was part of LKQ or not. They were a little less than helpful. But, thank you for confirming the '02-'05 years. I hadn't heard of any other years that had the 20" spares. Thank you!

As MoparMulisha said, I was looking specifically for the years that they came with the steel 20" spares. I am actually looking to buy four of them to run on a project that I am working on. So far I have found and bought one. Three to go!
Thanks,
Nik

My 07 qc has a full size spare as well. I would imagine almost every ram truck has a full size spare. I cannot really see a donut working for these trucks.

My 14 definitely has 20X9 chrome clad wheels, but a 17 steel spare.

Just to speak to Sparky and mrfblacklaramie's responses, we were discussing what years had 20" steel wheel spares, not whether they were doughnuts or full size. They are all full size, but the best that we can tell, just the 2002-2005 trucks came with 20" steel spare wheels. After that, they came with 17" wheels, albeit full size tires.

I have been picking these wheels up, here and there off of Craigslist. I have paid $40 for one in perfect condition with a new tire, $50 for another with a good tire mounted and the most I've paid thus far is $100 SHIPPED for a bare rim. It was only two hours away, but the fuel would have cost me as much or more than shipping and I didn't lose a day. Now I am just after one or two more! Almost there.
