"I got a guy" HMMMMMM sounds kinda shady. Also, are you sure your truck won't fall apart without it? I mean if that was the case why put it there in the first place. You could leave it off for weight reduction too.

I ran mine without it for a while - its only there to fill the hole that is needed to put the socket in to get the headlight off.

if you don't like that design..........never go to a 4th gen. You gotta remove the grill and contort your hand in that fender well to get the lights out.
