so I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 that did not have fog lights and I'm installing aftermarket fog lights but I have read that there are one plug on either side of the truck for fog lights and also there is just one on the driver side. I have two located on the driver side and one is hanging behind the head light that is plugged into nothing then I have another one also on the driver side that is connected to the mounting bracket to the head light that is plugged into nothing. I have a Haynes repair manual and I looked at the wiring diagram for the lights and the wire colors don't match. so I'm kind of stuck at this point.

The one that is down low is the correct one it should have a plastic clip holding it in place against the frame with a red tab. Here is a couple pics where it should be. Mine didnt have fogs originally either.

so how do I connect two lights to one plug? as you might be able to see there is a red and black wire for power and ground and both fog lights have this. I have a switch that came with the fog lights. Will using this plug affect if they work or not?

You buy the oem jumper that connects at that point then splits off into the 2 fogs. If you wanted you can just wire it up and basically delete the connector but idk about that. Im sure someone else will chime in and help you with wiring options beyond the oem jumper.

You can pick the oem jumper up cheap with a little searching. less pain than having to wire everything up and probably cost about the same.

My truck did not come with fog lights either. I got a factory harness and plugged it in to the connector you pictured. For a switch I got a switch from a fog light equipped vehicle, swapped it in and everything worked good.
