so as some may know I got some decepticon badges from billet badges.com. Problem is I got 09 grill badges. I assumed since they are inset into the grill that that backs would be flat. Well I made an ass of my self because they are not the have a good arc to them. So I need to fill the gap. Did the back one with a bunch of 3m 1/2 tape and it works but if you get too close to the tape looks horrible. drives me nuts. So I was thinking I would add a bunch and sand it flat then add one last layer then attach. So this would work with the wider the tape the better. I can not find 3m double sided tape over 7/8ths. Can you find anything wider? does it exist? 4in would be awesome but 2in would be fine. Any suggestions, thoughts, links, or info you have would be great. Sorry for the long post, just a bit crazy right now.

Would it be possible to sand it down and make it more even? or bondo to raise it up?

bondo maybe but silicone and stuff in to permanent for me. I know how to remove a badge with that has 3m tape and I like that comfort....

If I could find thicker and wider tape I know I could make it work,,,,,

Oh, I meant like, bondo the back of the badge to make it even, and then 3m tape it on as normal.

x2 for the bondo on the backside to build it up some and make it flatter. If you make it flat across the back and then use a dremel to recess it some to allow for the tape thickness and it *should* sit flush with the truck.

oh no I understood Eddie just a little nervous about bondo. Never used it or really been around it....

Id hate to ruin the finish on the front or edges of the badge from me not knowing what im doing.

Its pretty simple. Repaired a bumper with it. Basically, mold it *(as its in putty form) to the shape you want it, leaving a little extra, and then sand it down to the perfect shape when it dries.

Mix it normally. Pretty simple to do.
