Hit a very large trash can in the middle of the road at about 60 today, broke my grill, broke the hood stop on the drivers side and bent the mount for that hood stop. My question is what is the sensor that is on that hood stop bracket? Got a line on the new grill for about 20 bucks, just need to know if I have to fix that sensor or not.

That is for the temperature readout in the overhead console in the cab.

If you have auto start then it could be the hood plunger, but if it just looks like a sensor then it's most likely the ambient temp sensor.

Thanx fellas. Got the grill and frame yesterday for the $20, needs to be stripped and repainted. Guess no more chrome grill, but it's better than paying full price. Maybe I'll color match it to the truck.

Colormatching it would make your truck look much better.

I love my chrome grill with chrome bug deflector. If I had to replace it, I would go with an Aluminum billet grill.:rockit:
