Alright so I am looking into picking up a night runner hood in the brilliant black and the srt style grille/grille shell as well in the brilliant black. So if I want to keep the majority of the hood and grille shell in the black, but add some silver in some areas, what would need to be done by the painter to do it? would they just be able to scuff where I want to be silver, paint and re clear the whole hood or would they need to do some other things to make the paint even?

they should be able to mask off the area and then just blend it...

i would go silver on the outside of the hood then leave the scoop part black. same on the grill. outer silver and inner black

Plan would be to do the edges up to the windshield in silver and bring that line into the shell, then move over about 3" and do a 2" stripe in silver down the hood and into the shell and do the same on the other side. Going to keep the inside of the shell black, the sides/bottom of the shell silver (well up to the windshield line) then just do the silver strips into the top of the shell. Should look real good, and not that much paint needed I would think so the price should be somewhat cheaper I would hope.

A good question though, will the 06 style grille shell work on an 05? I would think it would right?

Need a better picture of the grille shell and the bumper. But, I don't think altering the bumper is going to matter. Still think there is going to be a gap.

it would have to be reglassed and painted but if you added a piece to the bumper to fill that slash in like on the 06 bumpers it would look sweet, but thats alot of work...

Why do you want to leave some part of the hood black? You truck has more of the chrome theme going so I think if you left part of the hood black then it wouldn't really match with your headlights and wheels.

I hate saying this, but if you go those colors, it only looks good (to my eyes) if it is a lot of black and a little silver (hate saying that)
