I've noticed here lately that the plastic step pads on my nerf bars are slick when it rains. Is there anything that I can put on them to rough them up to make a non-slip surface? Like herculiner or something like that?

I'm sure herculiner would work Wendy. That'd probably be the easiest!!!

What kind of prep would have to be done on the plastic? just some roughing up?

I've only seen Herculiner come in roll-on. The other thing you could do is contact the Line-X dealer there in Springfrield, tell them you just want to do the pads and see if you could get them tossed in when they're doing a bed. If the pads come away from the bar I would check into doing that.

Herculiner will work out perfectly .... I quart (the smallest you can get ) and a paint brush .

Pop the plastic part off ( they pop off ) and wash and dry . No prep needed on plastics so dont worry about that .

Trust me I know Hurculiner .. lol

You could get the spray in bedliner on them. My dad did that to the whole nerf bar and it was pretty nice.

Great. Thanks for the ideas guys. I didn't know if those pads popped off or not, but now I do ;) Now I just need the truck home long enough to try to get this done LOL
