Tried to remove the plasti dip on my truck with no luck. I bought it with it on there and seems like the guy put a thin coat to where it is just coming off in pieces. I bought a plastic razor blade off amazon and dip dissolver I tried goo gone but it's a mission. Heard it was easier with the stuff I am buying. Just wanted to let guys know if you are going to use plasti dip do like 5 coats.

hmmm Ill give that a shot. is wd-40 bad for the paint?

No wd-40 won't hurt your paint. This is the most common way people remove plasti dip from their vehicles.

Have you tried a pressure washer?

I plasti dipped my entire VW, but coats were ****. Do not use WD-40 gets everywhere and never comes off... Spend the money and get dipdisolver, and use a 20* pressure washer blade. Let it soak for 15 min then you'll be done in 5

This is the route I would take.... or if the coat is so thin go buy some plastidip get a piece started, respray with a few coats and build up the dip. maybe it will come off easier when a thicker membrane is applied... Its supposed to meld together even when sprayed on old applications

I know it's pricey but it's totally worth it. Spray it let it sit for 5 to 10 min and pressure clean it comes off so fast

Lol that's crazy cause it pulled it off my wife's bumpers I did on her old Equinox and they were a rough texture so it stuck to it pretty good

Thanks for the info. It took me longer to do but the WD-40 worked ok, you still have to put a whole lot of elbow grease
into it.
