I've seen some white 4th gens with the factory blacked out door pillars. How would plastidip hold up on the paint? I think it gives the truck a cleaner look, especially on a white truck. Heres a current pic.

I think it would do fine. I'm sure some of the PD guys will chime in soon.

It should hold up just fine. Just make sure to get all the wax off before you start spraying. It's doing good on my chrome bumpers and aluminum wheels so far

I did mine a few months ago.. it held up really good.. I took it off because I wanted to do a gloss vinyl.

But it will hold good on the paint

Use vinyl...thats what I have on mine, most vinyl shops will have some scrap lying around that should be big enough to work.

Actually on the 4th gens that all it is. It's not painted like that. I noticed it after my grandmother wrecked her truck. You can see where the glass from the others cars back window hit it

Plasti-dip really isn't paint because you can remove it if you don't like it. But the OP has a 3rd gen....

I didn't really think about the vinyl wrap till you all mentioned it. I know of some vinyl places, but I'm not sure that they wrap stuff. They mainly do decals and such, but I can always ask. The thing about the plasti dip is I can do it, if I don't like it after a while, just peel it off and I'm only out a few dollars. What would wrapping cost for this small of an area?

Seriously man, just ask if they have some scraps of black. It won't take much to do it at all...if they do decals they can do this as well.
