Hey all ram heads, Had a warped rotor feel when hitting brakes between 40 and 30 mph, no pulsating peddle just the rear bounce, so I did a rear brake job, slotted rotors and carbon/ceramic pads. STILL F***ing does it at the exact same speed, WTF! Anybody have similar problem? If it was my calipers wouldn't it pulsate the brake pedal or feel something? Any help is much appreciated, thnx.

a bad shock? or tire? Try rotating the tires, see if the problem moves

Tried that but no go, it only does it when I'm slowing down between 40/30 mph.

It the problem stays in the rear after rotating tires, I would take a closer look at the rear shocks.

Did rear shocks today and still have a rear bounce when braking, I'm now thinking axel shaft? Any other opinions out there?

Skyramman, This a wild idea take the rotors off and put on a lathe don't turn them just to look if they are true.Just because they are new one might not be true.Setting it on a lathe you can see as it spins.Mind you this is a wild guess.

I had the rotors spun, they are strait. The truck is stock so idk what else, it's gotta be axel bearings or something with the axels themselves. Not sure what the next step should be. Maybe do the bearings.

Do you know if it bounced before you put the new brakes on?Like you said it could be the bearings or one of the axels not true at where the wheel boits up to it could be bent .Heck all the work you have done on this truck you will have the newest old truck in the forum.lol

Easier to leave in place and use a magnetic dial indicator.

Lift and put the rear axle on Jack stands. Try to move the wheel side to side and up and down. You should be able to tell if there's a problem with the bearings.

Right rear axel was bent just the slightest bit, I put new brakes on thinking it was warped rotors but guess not, owell live n learn. Worst part is that the old brakes were almost new also, I should have kept them,:idiot:

Damn! That'll do it. I'd check your carrier out. I had bad bearings on my Jeep and it caused the axle shaft to ream out the diff carrier where the carrier bearings are.

Yeah man tell me about it, same thing happened on my old ford, so I replaced both inner and outers just to be safe.
