suppose to be brighter. I can say this weekend. I bought a set and I can take pics of regular vs. the Ultras for my low beams in my 4th gen.

you know......if you are wanting a better light without the cost of HIDs, check out HODs. AAC sells them (or I can get them through my account with them) - but I know they were running a special on the LXs the other day, 60 bucks shipped for the highs, lows and fogs (yeah, I know, ours don't have separate bulbs)

SilverStar Ultra's are a waste of damn money. I've put more sets in at work, and had to listen to more customers complain about them than I can shake a stick at. Save up for a HID kit and you'll never have to worry about dim lights again

I run Philips Vision Plus +50%. Nice upgrade. More lumens and usable light than Silverstars.

Stay away from tinted bulbs. Might look look whiter, but won't give you more usable light. Good article here: Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply

i had them in my ford. They were probably 2x as bright as the stock bulbs (and alot whiter)

were not near as bright as HIDs, but about as close as you can get with quality non tinted bulbs IMO. Mine lasted 3-4 years

i might just try them....just to see how i like em...im trying to stay as legal as possible because i live in southern california near downtown los angeles...things are getting kinda heated down here with cops pulling people over for illegal tints, lights, mufflers etc...well at least in my area it is....so much for sunny southern california, cant even roll out in peace =/
