Where is the best place to tap into the parking lights? I really don't want to run the wires for a separate switch, and I don't want to tap into the wire I have coming out of the fuse box for my lighted front license plate bolts. I was thinking some 5050 size LEDs in about 1 foot long strips will be bright enough, but I haven't ordered anything yet, any suggestions?

Come on ya'll, everybody just uses switches? I've found some kits, but they are 60 to 150 bucks.

You might run into some legal issues there

What color are you wanting to back light it? The easiest way would be to just tap into the parking lights wire on the headlight harness.

I am wanting to do amber. I know blue or red would likely be a reason to get pulled over. Does the harness run down the left side under the hood? That kit I found for 150 has different modes like a fade on/fade off, and a remote control but I don't feel that function is worth that. I guess it would be good to have them on a switch though. No need to burn them all the time.
