I'd like some basic input on a steering stabilizer. What are they? Does it replace a factory part... etc.

I found three on ebay, can you provide some info on this type of mod/upgrade?
There is a dual and single too???

Rancho RS5000 Steering Stabilizer RS5412 - eBay (item 370490315321 end time Apr-04-11 17:09:53 PDT)

Rancho RS5000 Steering Stabilizer RS98511 - eBay (item 370490317982 end time Apr-04-11 17:21:34 PDT)

Steering Stabilizer DIRECT FIT SINGLE BOOT SSV NEW AUTO - eBay (item 270711660982 end time Mar-26-11 23:47:38 PDT)

I am installing, new upper and lower ball joints, moog tie rods inners and outers, bilstein shocks, rear sway bar, new front sway bar bushings.

All together is around $1000 of upgrades into my truck, just for suspension and steering.

Should this do me any good on the 100k mile parts.

Save your money . The dual shock SS are for guys running 37" or bigger tires and that are wide . Most guys run them for looks .
What I found in SS the best is get a good replacement Bilstein and call it a day .
Remember you get what you pay for .

What size tires are you running > AND how many miles on the OEM one . If over 60k replace it with a bilstein

We are talking SS ... and yes Bilstein makes one that is a real SS replacement . The ones you linked are normal shocks with brackets .. Shocks and SS are two different things .

I am running stock size for my truck 275/60/20.

And my original question also asks if a steering stabilizer is either a stock or aftermarket mod?

Does my truck, stock have a ss?
