I came across a wrecked srt10 about an hour away from me that still has the hood. The guy wants $300 & it will need some work. Has some damage where it meets the fender/windshield area. Fortunately I'm in college for autobody & get to work on my stuff at school.

It's missing the scoop & everywhere I look it's around $300 for just that.

Is it worth it to buy this hood knowing it will need bodywork + $300 scoop + paint? Does anyone make aftermarket scoops for cheaper or sell used scoops?

Hoods are hard to fix, plastic is/wasn't great on them, they get Jarred pretty hard when shut usually. Little ding is different, sounds like that one has serious issues/repairs needed. I would shy away. It's close enough maybe not as bad as it sounds.

The damage doesn't look too bad. And definitely nowhere near as bad as some repairs I've done in school. (had to replace an entire back half of an LS1 camaro recently)
