to keep the pain from peeling with the take take xacto blade and carefully trace the outside edge of the tape.

Those look really good. So did you end up with 3 coats?

On mine the tape came off really easily, I just took it slow and watched it.

Did 2 coats, took a razor blade and picked a corner and slowly peeled it off. I think they look real good. Going to do a wetsand here in an hour or 2 (give it about 4hrs of dry time, then clear it and let it dry overnight.

Here is where Im at now

Not yet, it was raining outside by the time I had everything done. They are not blacked out though, you can still see the red shining through which is what I was after.

Oh and the blue you see on the clear parts of the lights is the tape coming through from the back.

They need a wetsand before the clear goes on, there are a few imperfections in the paint that you can feel.

so the compound gets rid of the wetsanding effects?

Yes you wet sand the vht then put on the clear then wet sand the clear after it dries and the compound makes it look like new/same thing they do to a car once its painted they wet(colorsand) it then buff it with compound

Im reallly liking how they turned out, they are dark when not in direct light, and a dark ruby color when the light hits them just right.
