Thinking about losing the tailgate spoiler and replacing it with a tailgate cap. I know I will have holes in the tailgate from where the spoiler attached. Will I run into any issues with the cap covering them up? Will it cover enough to keep water out of the holes?

I had a bushwacker cap installed on my 2008 ram and it covered the holes just fine on the tailgate.

I'm also pretty sure water won't get in... the tailgate cap I had on mine covered the entire top section...

Thanks for the replies and pics guys.

Never been a huge fan of it. And now it's getting faded and I found a crack in it. It's also hindering the bakflip from snapping shut. I can only get one side to snap.

yeah, I prolly do. We had a hard time getting it adjusted when it first went on. The left side has always been a problem. The bakflip has to come off when the truck goes to the shop, so I'm gonna tweak it then and make sure it fits right with the new tailgate cap.

I had someone interested in it as of a month or two ago. I need to see if they are still interested.

I had to do adjustments to mine to get it right. did you have to use spacers behind the rails I had to on mine

If they don't how much would you want for it? I've wanted one so the top of my tail will stop getting dinged up lol

Not sure lol haven't really thought about it, it won't be much tho. It is almost 4 years old and is faded a bit. It has a couple dings on the top of it and I just discovered a crack next to the last screw on the right side.
