Ok guys, not sure if this is the best spot for this..but here goes.

Let me hear some rear world examples of hemi 3rd gens with 35's or 37's.

did you go from 35's to 37's and lose 5mpg and burn up a trans? i'd love to know.
Did you downsize from 37's back to 35's and it was like driving a rocket ship?
Did you go 37's or 35's vs stock and notice almost zero difference?

factory tires are approx 33's.

My truck is currently a stock suspension 07 quad cab, with long tube headers, a tune, custom exhaust, and a CAI.

It's going to become a leveling kit, fiberwerx fender/bedside trophy clone, with either 35's or 37's.

truck has 3.92's as is.

Thanks Guys!

I have a fourth gen, took a huge hit going from 31" stocks to 37's

but with a new CPU and tuner it plants you in the seat pretty good again :)

See I'm currently debating the same thing right now. My current 35's are wore down and idk if I want to bump up to 37's or stay with the 35's. Currently on 35's with my mods done, it still runs really strong, fast, doesn't take extra throttle to get rolling which I'm afraid 37's will, and I'm getting 14-15 mpg around town also. My old truck took a pretty good hit power and mpg when I went from 35's to 37's so that's why I'm leaning towards staying with 35's.

My mileage is so good currently, ppl don't believe me. I drive it like a grandpa most days. I truly don't want to go from 17-18mpg on my daily commute to 13mpg on my daily commute just to look "cool" Also i want my MDS in tact, and functioning. I can stomach a re-tune for $300-400. but if the difference in 35's and 37s is huge in drivability and MPG i'm going end up going the smaller route i suppose. I don't want all my performance upgrades negated by rotational mass.

O I believe ya I was 17-18 around town when mine was leveled and went down to 14-15 after I lifted it on 35's. So I'm guessing with 37's it would be down to 11-12 mpg. And like you, I hate to lose my performance gains cause it runs great for a lifted gas engine truck. So I'm Probably just getting 35" trail grapplers again.

I will tell you this. Going from stock wheels and tires to 35s will cost you a lot in both mileage and power. I also have a 5.7 with 3.92s. And with my 35s the truck still gets around fine but you can tell there is a lot of extra rotating mass down there. On my stock wheels and tires I could see 20mpg on long flat road trips. With my 35s, it's pretty difficult to hit 15. And when I put my stock setup back on every winter, for a few days it feels like I'm in a race truck or something lol. So yeah, you will notice a pretty good decrease in both power and mileage. Some of this can be offset with a tuner. The loss with 37s will be even greater. That extra diameter adds a lot more weight.

Good to know, as mentioned I currently have some go fast goodies to help with some of this. I plan on weighing before and after too.

Cooper makes 37/12.50r17s in their discoverer at3.. and it still has a 55k mileage warranty. At least that's what the lady said when I wrote them.

My wheels and tires came mounted and balanced, wrapped in plastic and shipped on a skid. 20x9 fuel hostage wheels, 35x12.5 nitto trail grapplers. The weight stamp on the freight ticket was almost 800 lbs. They are HEAVY.

My average with my 35s is about the same as yours. If you're on stock wheels and tires, that's not so good lol

Lol yea my average is the same or better on 35's. And these nittos are way heavy compared to other 35's. These weigh 81 lbs each, cooper stt pro 37x13.5 weigh 83lbs. Ridiculous lol

Yeah I'm on stock chrome clad 17s with 265s... fresh spark plugs and pcv valve less than 3k miles ago... any ideas why my mileage would suck so bad?

Full disclosure on my mileage being 18-20 daily commute
custom tune and 93 octane
CAI
full stainless exhaust incl long tube headers

if i drive in the city, winter blend gas, i see 16.

You are basically stock with a mild handheld tuner, and a intake tube right?
do you have 3.91's? do you let the MDS do its thing?

i picked up a full MPG from long tubes easy. I run synthetic oil, baby it when i can, run 93 octane per my tune. all adds up.

I'm actually planning on going down in wheel size to 17's with methods, or the ultra-wheel clones i posted about before. my stock tire size is 275/60 on 20inch factory wheels obviously. I will NOT be going with an aggressive offroad tire. Something like the mastercraft AXT's i have now will be it. only taller.

a 275-60r20 is 33 inches tall as it sits. I understand there will be a weight increase, but..factory steel 20's, with covers. downsizing to an aluminum 17, but then going with a "civilized" 35 tire...i'm thinking weight per corner won't be catastrophic.

but I didn't ask the question to just try to hear what i want to hear, so all these points are being taken into consideration. maybe i'm not thinking realistic on the marginal weight increase.

I think my next step will be to contact cooper, stay within one series "mastercraft axt" and see what the shipping weight is on a 33,35,37

I have 3.55s, but aren't those supposedly better for mileage, hence why new rams come with 3.21s.

I do not have mdd on because it was giving me a weird drivetrain vibration on my commute, hence why I bought the tuner.

I'm running the 87 tune with stock trans shift points as the superchips shift points were to high without the trans tuning.

I must admit, my commute is mostly city, but the slowest is 35 mph, and my truck can cruise around 1100 rpms in that zone. The rest of the commute is 45 or 55 mph. I travel about 8 miles in the morning, and about 10 in the evening.
