I have a 08 ram 1500 bighorn quad cab with a 5.7 hemi, stock suspension.

If I went with 17x8 rims (-12mm offset) and 35x12.5 tires, will I have rubbing problems? And if so, how severe?

You will definitely rub, and pretty bad id guess. I had 35x12.50 MT's with 2.5 level and still rubbed on flat ground not even full lock turn. On a decline at full lock it would sound like it ripping the bumper off lol

Do you know what kind of off set you were running with these?

Originally the stock 20" rims (07 ram 1500 BH) then after that threw on 2" spacers which helped a bit but still rubbed on full locks. Cut out wheel liners and that helped some more. After that I changed up everything. And this was with 2.5" level

O but I'm not sure what offset those stock rims are. They were the 20" ones with the chrome plastic covers

Ok, thanks for the info. Do you know what the max size I can run with a -12mm offset? With stock suspension?

That one I don't know, sorry. Hopefully someone else can chime in. I'm assuming you are talking about a MT tire or a aggressive AT?

Yea, looking at getting the toyo open country at 2 extremes.

Well if anyone is interested, you can fit a 35" tire on these trucks with a stock suspension. -12mm offset wheels, 17x8.5 .... 35x12.5 toyo open country at II extreme tire. They are real close to rubbing, but so far no rub! Most likely will level it.

Wow, I guess I stand corrected lol. I rubbed bad with mine but I suppose it musta just been from the gnarly MT treads. Looks good man

My 35x12.50s don't rub at all except for in reverse at full lock. -12 offset wheels, truck is 4wd and leveled. They are trail grapplers btw.

That is not the tread pattern of trail grapplers, TERRA grapplers use that tread pattern. I run trails, they have a much larger tread and and sidewall bite. That would explain the no major rubbing issues.

That's a trail grappler with 35k miles on it, you can see the size difference in the treads, sidewall and pattern

I believe justin was stating he has trail grapplers not bulldog.

MY 35 12.5 r17's rubbed with a 2 inch spacer at 3/4 to full lock on any grade other than flat. That was with a 2 inch level also. rims are 8.5 with zero offset.

Here's my build thread if you want to see how i had to fold the pinch seams over. scared the hell out of me as everything was new on the truck when i first heard it. sounds like the front end is coming apart.
