Went to the Dealer....

Went to the dealer today and got my rims replaced for the second time under warranty. I've got the chrome clads and the lip on them corrodes from underneath the clear coat. It is a manufacturing defect. My truck was there for 4 hours. Luckily, they gave us a rental so we could do some running around and get some lunch. They had some trouble getting the tires balanced, so that took extra time plus the fact that the guy doing my rims was also the oil change guy too. Anyways, they referred to my 34" Nitto TG's as "monsters". LOL

The price of these rims are unbelievable. $550 a piece if you were buying them.

Anyways, just wanted to say that there is some good dealerships out there. They even washed the truck, it was thru the automatic, but at least they did that. LOL

Guess I'll go out and throw some Fukken Wax on them now.

so no 4th gen upgrades? LOL

I expect to see some blinging looking rims later tonight when I sign on.

well, they ran it thru their car wash, so technically they didn't "wash" it. But apparently the car wash pushed in my driver side vent visor or did something of the sort, cuz when the window rolled down, it cracked the visor, so now I need a new visor.

No 4th gen upgrade, but I did see a nice 2010 mega cab 3500. The sticker on it was 57,680 and it was sold. Ouch.

The rims are pretty blingy right now, but I'll still fukkenize them.

my chrome clads on my 03 did that and now my 08 clads are doing the same thing. Maybe I'll see if I can get them replaced at my local 5 star dealership.

oh yeah, definitely ask them because it is a defect covered under warranty.

yep, it was them. I've always had pretty good luck with them. I've only had one issue and that was when the serpentine belt got replaced. It had come in and they hadn't called me to let me know. Meanwhile, my truck was squealing horribly. I talked to a service advisor at the time and she said the service manager (who was responsible for calling me) was an idiot. He is no longer the manager now. LOL

i still hate them ..... all ass holes . IMO sorry .

I bought my mega from them , 2 days after i bought it the stearing shaft linkage was broke , they wanted to charge me 680 bucks and were demanding the money . I said **** you this truck is 2 days old . fix it ..pay for it .. or you sold me a lemon .. ass holes .
come to find out on my own research it was a recall for that truck .

now dont dealers check for recalls or know recalls when they see them ... poor service .

so they get it fixed 5 days later ...... a 30 min job my kid could do . anyway i go pick it up and they give me a bill for half that ... for labor .... i pulled out the recall page showed them and they said o ya its a recall you owe nothing .... just wonder how many people they ripped off with that **** ... fukk them .

I took my 07 van into the shop once........the paint was coming off the back bumper. The dealer told me it wasn't covered by the factory 36/36000 warranty. I told him to put it in writing, so when the lease was up I could turn that in with it. They scheduled the appointment then. Asshats.

I'm going to be done with them for the most part come the end of November when my 3/36 is up. The only thing I get done there (other than the wheel stuff) is the oil changed. I'll prolly just do it myself come the end of the warranty. I have the lifetime powertrain so I still gotta go there for that every 5 years. The first one will be in 2012.

Looks like the dealer is semi looking after you. I would get on them about the vent visor though.

Man, I went to two dealers numerous times about the spider webbing under the lip...they always gave me heck and said the warranty doesn't cover road grime and acid damage...

That webbing was the main reason I sold my chromies and coated these aluminium ones

I checked the visor out tonight and it's got about a 1 inch crack in it. I'm just gonna replace it and not bother with the dealer. I can't prove that the automatic car wash caused it and I'm not gonna argue with them. Just pees me off because I'll have to buy a set just to replace the one. Oh and my passenger fog light fogged up after going thru the car wash. It's dried out now. I'm gonna have to tell them to not run it thru if I end up going back there. Dang stealerships.

sounds like your o ring is loose. I hate it when that happens.
