I had the engine light come on yesterday and it was saying the engine was basically too cold. I also now that it takes a little while for it to warm up in the morning...especially lately with 6° weather.

I was wondering if I should put a grill cover on. Or a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. I now diesel trucks tp ot...but what about me with my hemi? i guess its worth a shot but could it hurt anything?

May have a stuck open thermostat. Never had any issues and it gets real cold here. All I do and it has to be really cold is put a piece of cardboard box in front of the rad and zip tie it on as there are holes along the top of the rad lip........Perfect.

I also use the cardboard trick as it helps get heat in the cab faster on my short drive to work. Also if the thermostat is stuck open the system won't pressurize and the upper hose will not get hard. Something to check.

Thanks! Ill have to check that.

My dad has a '96 V10 and he has put cardboard behind the grill for the last 10 years or so (about 2/3 of the entire area). Only during the winter due to being in Florida. It makes a big difference.

Um, the truck is designed to work one way and that is without the cardboard/winterfront. If you are doing this you could potentially cause some issues. If the truck isn't warming up, fix it. Bandaids cover the problem but don't fix them...
