What is the better route to go?
A) put the compressor w/ clutch from the wrecker in my truck

B) put the clutch on a known good compressor (mine)

A/C stopped working again... its probably the last warm spell of the year here, but I need it working for defrost when it gets cold..

My father says the high pressure switch is known to go bad... he's 1000kms away from me so cannot show me where it is on my truck... can someone show me where it would be on my truck?

Notes: I get ~14V to my compressor when the truck is running, but the compressor does not kick on... he says the hpco switch may be tripped/false tripped.. I have pressure in my coolant lines confirmed...

Any help would be appreciated... I'm stuck...

Ordered a replacement sensor from Amazon for ~$80 shipped.. should be in my hands by October 3rd...

Wondering if I'm heading down the right road to trouble shoot this issue... if that is infact the highpressure switch, and also if it being broken would cause my symptom...

I keep reading that I could jumper it, but I don't know if there's a risk to the TIPM by doing so.. if someone could comment on that, it'd be appreciated.

Installed the highpressure switch tonight... didn't make a bit of difference. Compressor does not want to engage.

So, does this mean we are back to the f'n clutch being gone again? Or is there something else that can cause this grief..

if you went replaced the sensor and it still doesnt work then im going to say your clutch needs replaced.

i know my A/C cut out a while back and my whole compressor seized up.

Hopefully you get it worked out
I hate AC systems, I carry a serpentine belt for a non AC truck in case this new compressor/clutch decides to be wierd (my girlfriends dad has been through 5 in the past year and a half)

And... we're back to this again... Got the A/C replaced at the dealership in March... They got a warranty on it for a year... I'm in Kelowna (again... I'm going to stop coming to Kelowna if this keeps up) and its supposed to be 39C here tomorrow... The A/C stopped working... 3 f'n months!!!

Question: If I go buy a thing of Freeon from CT and try to load it up, will that void any warranty that I have on the A/C compressor?

Question: It seems some of the fault is in the controls for psgr/dvr climate controls.. my side blows strictly hot air, the psgr side blows mildly colder... could this be the sole cause of my issue?

I've been looking at trucks online... I dunno if its time to ditch the truck, or if its just testing my loyalty to which, if I pass, it will serve me for years only needing routine maintenance, or if it has something against weekends with the family in Kelowna.

Looking for advice..

You have that part warrantied so take it back and see what they say.
Are all lines clear of blockage? No leaks still?
Orifice tube clogged?

Ya, I definitely will take it for warranty, just frustrated with the ongoing issue.. I know no truck is without issues but there's got to be a point I put a bullet in it.

I need some advice from someone with experience..

I've been advised that I need my compressor replaced AGAIN.. the truck will now be on its 4th compressor!! That cannot be normal.

The original compressor lasted ~170,000km
The reman compressor lasted ~2,500km
The OEM Replacement Compressor lasted ~5,000kms

Is there something else the dealer should be looking for that would be causing these failures to happen?

Compressor failed again! Blowing hot air. I'm going to put a bullet in it.
