Mine is messed up and needs to be replaced. A new one costs more money than I want to spend, so I was thinking about an aftermarket wheel lke a Grant or something. I've heard that an adapter for a late 80's Chevy will work. Has anyone tried this? If so, how was the fit? How did it look when you were finished?

Yes, I know doing this would kill the cruise control and the air bag. I'm fine with that

If you don't care about the airbag and cruise then that probably opens you up to a lot of things, but you need to check first the legality of removing the safety device (airbag), then whether the truck will function correctly with it removed. With the interdepency of things plugged into the computer network (yes your truck is a rolling computer network) it may not function.
