dash leds

hey guys....how many leds do i have to order for my whole truck....i want to change the color to red.....do i need anything else???? thanks

Red will be difficult to do because there is a blue film molded onto the clear plastic. Unless you order a whole new gauge plate you pretty much are stuck with some shade of blue. The 02-05 dash has 11 lights where as the 06-08 have 8-9.

dammit ...so i guess red is out.....what about white......will it still look blue???

Yup, tryed that and it was a fail. That blue tint in the face plate will turn it more into a light blue. And the tint WILL NOT come off, already ripped my face plate some to find that one out the hard way. The only way is you will either have to order a new face plate without tint or get a blue for your gauges because it'll overpower the tint

Here is the little writeup I did when I replaced my lights, you can see the blue looks much better than the stock green. You can even put some film over the odometer and gear indicator so that is blue as well.

do you have a pic of the blue smds..... and what about the overhead console and the hac controls.. and where did you get the blue film for the odo numbers....thanks

check out okla's list here http://www.ramforum.com/f76/led-dash-conversion-1495/, I dont have any pics of the leds themselves, the leds for the overhead console have to be soldered in, so I did not replace those.

For your HVAC is it dual climate control? Those are a little more difficult.

Yeah man you have any more questions let us know. Oklahemi knows more about the overhead console and headlight switch so if you have qu_estions about that part hes your guy. Otherwise i should be able to help ya.

my overhead did not have to soldered in they are twist locks. the headlight switch had to be soldered

they were a different bulb but yeah just twist them out and put the new ones in
