Ive had my 2006 Ram 1500 for about six months now. Ive noticed at idle sometimes the tach will drop from 500rpm to zero. It'll bump back up to normal with a blip of the throttle. I've tried to reset the cluster with the little trick. Is there another thing I can do to remedy it? Or is it a sensor problem?

next time to tap the dash. You might have a lose ground. I had an older car that did the same. FOund a cracked trace in a circuit board.

my 06 did that, i think its a known problem on 06 rams, i forget the fix but mine never caused any issues, just looked like the truck was off or idling at 200 rpms or less lol

i used to tell people thats how you know my 3/4 ton hemi is an economy vehicle, its idle is almost the motor not running *****

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body ? I had something similar to what you are describing and it ended up being the throttle body sensor being dirty.
