I always put dash mats in my trucks to protect the dash, maybe hide some cables, etc.

I've gotten three in about 20 years. The first one was like carpet - seemed heavy - was still on the truck when I traded it for this Dodge.

The second one was more suede-like, but seemed lighter. I like the finish better, but I like the heavy weight of the first one.

For my "new" Dodge ('08), I ordered Dashmat brand "Ultimat". Just went by the name - seems like it would be a top of the line thing. They sent me the one for the wrong year, so I have to send it back, but honestly I don't like it. Seems like a big piece of felt more than anything.

So now I need to send it back, and probably pick out another one. Any suggestions of ones people like or that I should stay away from? the nicer the fit, the better. I like a little weight. In addition to other duties, I like to velcro an amateur radio faceplate up there, and so far the heavy carpet one has been best for that.

Thanks for looking.

I've had the ultimat on my 15 and it's been great to be honest, looks great too once you anchor it down with the provided velcro strips that is.

Thanks for the input. I might hip up a brick and mortar store like Pep boys to see what they have before I replace it with another Ultimat.

I've never anchored one before, but I'm going to do this one because I want to put an amateur radio faceplate on it.

Does it mar the dash if you ever try to remove it?
