Anyone know how to remove the intrument cluster in a 2006 Mega Cab? It's different from any of the other 3rd gen dashes.

This is just pulled off the internet, but it is more "built in" then any of the others.

That looks just like any other 06+.

#1. Depending on your model, you may have two screws up here. Remove them.

#2. This just "pops" off. Once the screws are removed in step 1 (if applicable), this piece just pulls off. It is held in place by clips. The first time you do it, it will feel like your finger nails are going to rip off. It sucks. You can try a screw driver wrapped in a rag in the lower left corner at your own risk. It will come off, but it sucks the first time. It's not coming off and your fingers hurt? Stop being a wuss and pull harder! Sorry, that's just how it is.

3. Look around and you'll see a few screws, a couple on the bottom and one or two revealed by the panel removed in step 2. remove them all.

4. Now you can see the rest of the screws. Remove them. That's the easy part. Lay a nice thick towel over the steering column and pull/tilt the console forward. There are three cable/plugs on the back. Yes, you have to remove them all. Yes, it is a pain in the ass. A small screw driver to press the clips helps. So does an extra set of hands. Once you do it once, you can do it by yourself. Thats just how much it sucks, but it is doable. Feel free to cuss, just don't slap your wife.

Once you have it disconected, tilt/roll it out. Congratulations. Go enjoy a nice refreshing glass of Hawaiian Punch!

Thanks George, so you do have to pull out the radio bezel and the center console?
