Go to home depot and get 2 brass 1/2" reducer plugs (air compressor area), two 1.5" #12 bolts, some washers, two hose clamps, and maybe some super glue for good measure.
1. Trim the plastic so that it doesnt have any of the "end " on it. Screw the threaded end of the plug into the back of the A pillar.
2. Use hose clamps to tighten down
3. Dab some super glue around clamps and in the threads as well.
4. Reassemble A pillar into truck.

Hello, and Welcome. As you note, that's some help. But the rest of the socket needs some reinforcement. As it so happens, I have an SRT pillar trim for upcoming work handy and I think if the right part is found, something needs to be bonded to the backside of the socket. This is just an idea..In my 04 I added a couple of washers that fit perfectly in the holes. It prevented the hole plastic from ripping, but could still pull out the nut side from the sheet metal. It wasn't 100%, but it did help.
Did you get it fixed? I think I quoted 2 1.5" screws but I actually used 2". Let me know and I can add pictures.Fantastic!!!! Thank you
