So I'm about to order a new set of wheels and tires, and would prefer to not have to mess with the tpms system or pay 200 extra dollars for a new set of sensors. Personally I hate the tpms system and I've hated it on every vehicle I've ever owned and don't care to keep it functional. But I don't want to drive around with the light on in the dash. So my question is, has anyone removed the light out of the cluster? I'm sure it's an led that is soldered onto the board, but un soldering it won't be difficult. I was just wondering if anyone has done it and if it creates any issues or anything. Or if the led is easily accessible from the back.

When I had my 2013 I had multiple sets of tires without sensors in them, I never saw a low pressure light, not even once. I had both the 3.0" LCD cluster and the 7" premium cluster, that was my experience.

Really? Every car I've had if one of them gets out of range the light stays on

Same

My current winter tires/rims have no TPMS. Only thing I get is the page on the evic, I change the page and don't get any light. Had them on since end of December.

Maybe because you guys have 4th gens, it'll show it on the screen and you can just clear it or something. I don't have any kind of information center so the light is all there is which is why I was curious

My wife's 2010 JK wrangler and her new 2014 both had the TPMS removed when we added aftermarket wheels and Tires, again no lights or warnings. Must be a chrysler thing...

That would be freakin sweet if the 3rd gens light didn't come on if it doesn't pick up any sensors

Newer vehicle (09-up) know when the sensors have been removed and don't set a light instead of a failed sensor setting a light.

Previous to that you will have a light constantly on when a sensor is removed from range. You can find sensors way cheaper then 200$ a set.

There are options to program the tpm on the vehicle side with a scan tool but it wont enable you to totally disable the system, only adjust tire pressures and tire sizes for speed accuracy.

Ok thanks, that's what I thought. And yeah I know you can find them cheaper, but I'm buying the wheels and tires as a package and that's how much the ones cost that the seller has. They're supposedly a good brand from what I've read so that's probably why they're more expensive. But I guess I'll have to get them then :homoswitch:
