02 ram 1500 chrysler 9.25 LSD or open differential

i am trying to figure out if i have a open differential or a LSD its a 02 ram 1500 chrysler 9.25 which came with 3.55 gears stock i have no idea if the gears were swapped since it was lifted with 33 inch tires when i bought it but the sticker says 3.55 gears chrysler 9.25 rear and 8.25 front diff

Look under the truck on rear axel. Should have a tag

It is probably open since it has 3.55 gears. If you think it was swapped, jack up the rear end and spin one tire. If they spin the same direction, you have a lsd, if they spin opposite, it's open... Or do it the fun way and stop on the gas in the rain

It would be more fun to do a burnout and see if there’s one rubber mark or two of them lol

You can go online and get your build sheet with your vin. Or pop open the diff cover and have a look.

Should be a sticker in glove box that will tell you what you had from factory.

all it said was 3.55 gears im pretty sure its a open diff because it seems to only burn one tire

Yes, should say LSD if it had limited slip.

The build sheet will say “anti spin differential”. That’s how the lsd’s are reffered too. I doubt you could do a burnout on 3.55’s and a stock engine haha

yea it actually burns the tires pretty good thats why i dont think it has the stock gears because im running 33x12.5 all terrain tires and the motor has bolt ons and a tune

Ok the tune and bolt ons make the difference. Without them my truck wouldn’t really do any kind of a burnout, the tune immediately fixed that haha
