2003 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi, Best Tuner?!

I have an 03 Ram 4x4 1500 5.7 Hemi, I have done the "TMR delete mod" and I was wondering if that would effect the performance of a tuner? Also, what do you all suggest for an 03 Ram? Anyone got 1 for sale?

Superchips. Best performers for an 03 I have yet to get one but I've heard it does wonders. It doesn't have transmission tuning like in the 04 up, but most other features are available.

That's what I have read, the 3815 is apparently the way to go since Tranny tuning isn't available anyways. Do you know of anywhere to find one?

Someone lists one on the classified section here every once in a while. Other than that, Moes Performance is a vendor on here, you should talk to him, or Hemifever tuning if you want something custom.

Like said, Superchips is your best bet. The 3815 is discontinued though, so your only shot at one of those is buying used. They have been discontinued for a few years though, so it is going to be an older unit.

Thank you! I've read a lot on the 3865. Could you kinda compare the 3815 and the 3865? Where I've got the 03 5.7 I can't do any tranny tuning anyways.

The 3865 has datalogging capabilities; if I'm not mistaken the 3815 can't do that.

Okay, I'm also in the same boat as the OP, so what is data logging?

Data Log is you 0-60 Times etc. The 3865 is your best bet since IMO the DSP sucks on an 03 (I run DSP on my other Hemi). As for Trans Tuning other than the TMR delete, you can add either a sonnax (Just missed a great deal on one last night) or even better the resistor that comes with the Transgo HD Shift Kit for about the same price and the Resistor performs better than the sonnax on the 03 (Red Truck Va did a write-up). If you have an 04 the resistor is not recommended if you have a Tuner so being an 03 there are limits but with those two Mods the Tranny works great especially when you up the Rev Limiter and shift Manually. I shift at 6400 but also have the Valve springs to support, etc. You can up it to 6K but remember they say the 03 has been known to break valve springs. add a Torque Converter 2600 Max if you Tow and don't have a Cam and you will notice the difference when you mash the pedal.

Long Comment but SC 3865 is a Good investment (Buy a new One) and on the 03 will yield approx an extra 21 Foot Lbs on the 91 Tune. I run the 87 with 89 Fuel in the Winter. Danny

I have an 03 hemi ram can u switch wiring and computers to an 04 so u can get more tuning

Why do some of the 3815 say 04-06 ram and others 99-08??

Are all 3815's going to fit an 03?
