Start a club and see if anyone shows up...

During the gas crunch of the seventies I built a small six for my 2500 series chevy, it had to work so hard it got worst mileage than the V8 that it replaced.

Had a new 2003 QC 3.7L back in 03. It was my first new vehicle since being in the States and thought i was king of the stoplight :insane:. She got traded in 04 for my current 5.7L, which ironically turned into a slow right lane cruiser.

Still miss it though. The rear doors def' made it easier for room.

I had a 3.7 that i just traded out for my new 4.7.. I was getting about 13 highway....

That little engine does have to work extra hard, especially going uphill and a CAI doesnt really help it much either..

I know you've probably heard this before, but i do recommend getting a 8 banger man, I was kinda iffy and first but now I'm glad i did.. I get anywhere from 14.5-16.5 on the highway now. (That's all I drive here in TX)

haha well glad you finally HALF got your senses right ;) the hemi gets even better mileage, but at least you're now convinced the v6 is a terrible choice. should have listened from the start man -- we could have saved ya lots of mod money!

It seems that now days people see a smaller engine and automatically think it should get better mileage. In some cases this is true but in a big truck, unless the smaller engine is putting out more power/tq than the larger one (aka fords 3.6L? turbo charged engine for their trucks), your mileage drops since it has to work harder.

yea i realized all this by now. The only reason Im driving the V6 is because my dad picked it up for $7500 at 55k miles a few years ago (2 or 3) and we needed another truck desperately... luckily i was smart and kept the mods VERY minimal , the only mods on it are window tint and the grille shell and inserts. My father will be in the market for a Cummins pretty soon and ill be trading in this V6 for a Hemi. I do gotta say that that little engine was very reliable. Never had any problems, and I once hauled almost 1000lbs for 15 miles and it did great.
