3.7L Replacement Advise

I am new to Dodge family, left Chevy. Bought a 2005 Ram 3.7 with a Stick for $2000. Thought it was a deal, knowing it starts hard, either valve dropped or main bearings.

Would you replace the 3.7l with low mileage engine or would you do a reman? Any suggestions on who to go with or which companies to stay away from with remans?

What other upgrades would you do while everything is out?

I sell atk reman engines at work. We have good luck with them. Even have some guys buy them for performance builds. Message me if you are interested

Here's the killer. just looked and they're $3600-3700 with freight and core. and the core is $500. So you have to make the decision if a 3100 reman engine is right for you.

I can get almost any engine on the books...the issue is remans are expensive...

So take this with a grain of salt, as i have no idea how nice the rest of the truck is, but MOST people back out on purchasing a 3,200 engine....for a $5000, vehicle? know what i mean?

in your case you may find a pullout 3.7 at a boneyard for $200-500.... but you're then buying alot of unknowns. all for you to decide your best option.

I should re-phrase....Some guys buy the reman ATK hemi's as a starting point, and build from there... we don't sell any performance 3.7s lol.

Do you sell the 4.7 also? I have 03 ram 1500, with 240k on it & a blown head gasket.

I beleive it's a strong motor and take my 35s and lift kit like a champ. Just needs some waking up.
Jba shorties I've had no luck with camshafts might have to have one custom ground. Airram.com has some stuff for us though not a lot but some search jeep side found ported throttle bodies before don't remember where though.
I recently contacted hemifever about tuning and SCT no longer supports the 3.7l either so tuning might have to be custom tuning

who has swapped out to 4.7l? i was reading were the computer can run both 3.7 & 4.7 and all the accessories will bolt up? what experience do you have with this?

Help. Can I use 3.7L out of 04 Dodge Dakota? I'm thinking I might need to swap water pump and intake to make this fit? Thanks
