My truck got stuck in about 5 inches of snow... The 4 wheel drive didn't feel engaged and there was a clicking noise like a pencil in a fan blade... Rotated tires today and put the truck in 4wheel drive... Should the front wheels spin when up in 4wd??...

Yes, one of the front wheels should rotate in four high or four low. All four will rotate if you have front and rear lockers

With the fronts turning in the snow, I would venture to say the tires could not get traction due to tire type or tread depth or no traction to be had

Thanks for response.. The clicking noise just sounded off-bad-not right as the tires spin.

Check your axel boots for tears. Could be that the grease is contaminated with foreign matter and causing sound your hear.
