IMO, there is a lot to like about a blower, compact and reliable. They are also expensive. Superchargers can run bigger more efficient intercoolers and are versatile in applications and are easy to install and upgrade. They are more affordable than a blower. Turbo's usually take a lot of fabrication for your specific application making them more difficult to install. If i had good welding skills then hands down a turbo would be my choice. Boost is addictive so you've been warned...

I'm at that point. Trucks got a cam, full exhaust, gears an lsd, an a 115k mile 5.7 that I feel still has some life in lol.. Anything I wanna do to this thing now is in the thousands, a 12 sec street truck is pretty sweet

Agreed, making the old truck fast does takes a lot of work. If you don't do the work yourself it can get expensive. And of course plan on replacing the transmission with something that can take the abuse.

It would be cool to do the 6.1 swap. I'm currently in he beginning stages of converting my 03 system to the 05 setup. Just can't find a good PCM, I'm just gonna have to suck it up and buy a new one and have my vin programmed to it. But I'm at a point too where I can't really do anything else thats not gonna be a crap ton of money. Headers , customer exhaust, cam/lifters, valve springs pushrods, tune, gears. I'm loving the truck, just really want to get the 05 setup to really bring out the power.

The 05 pcm swap is key to tuning the mods. IMO it's worth getting it done so you can move forward with the other mods. I spent years fooling around with the 03 pcm and it was mostly wasted time and money.

Luckily I found this out early. Now it's just a waiting game to get some extra cash to get the new PCM. I can do the programming and wiring myself. Already got my new TCM connector. Just gotta get the PCM switched so I can switch the connector. Gotta also add the new 02 sensor wiring as well

Once you have the donor plug, pcm and 02s it won't take you but a few hours.
Not having to do the tcm, I did mine in a couple of hours.

What kind of help are you looking for? There’s quite a bit of info on doing a bigger Hemi. It’s only limited by your time and budget

First swap to a 05 pcm. Then you can build a stroker motor or use a newer motor but you are limited with 2008 or older since these will have a 32 tooth tone ring thats compatable with the 05 pcm.

Ok, complete the 05 pcm swap. Then we can talk about transmissions swaps. You will need a 03 and 05 service manuals with pinouts to get started. If you are doing the work yourself, it'll be a lot of fun. If you are paying someone to do the work it will be very expensive.

Then you will have a lot of fun and great truck. Don't get in a hurry and go one step at a time. You are starting at a good time as others have already done both the 05 pcm and 46rh swap in 4wd model 03's. You won't have to reinvent the wheel
Chris is about to become your best friend.. as he has done the pcm swap, plus built a stroker motor.
