Put in my Aeroforce, but it doesnt turn on. Am I stupid or just ignant?

Isnt it as simple as pluging the OBDII cable into the back of the gauge and then into the OBDII port? Or is this one of the few vehicles that requires external power using the center wire of the cluster of 3?

Should just be plugging the cable from the obdII to the gauge. Check the gauge wire and be sure its in the right spot AND that its in there tight, mine kept coming loose

I believe the 03 needs a separate power wire. Have you checked on the aeroforce website?

Are you sure it is the right gauge for your year? Aren't there two different versions, one for the early rams and one for the later rams?

Yeah its the SR model. I couldnt find anything on the site that said 03 requires a separate power source. Maybe i'll just hook it up and see if that worksl

Doesn't RT-VA have the AI and an 03? Maybe you can ask him if you need it.

I dont know that there is a power wire to the gauge. The seperate wires are for connecting to the other display sensores and those have an extra power wire.

AF, I checked out the manual for my AI and it says "If the gauge is not turning on or off properly you can force it on and off at the proper time by removing the small 2-pin jumper on the rear of the gauge and connecting the red wire to a switched 12v.".

yep thats what im gonna do. I'm pretty sure the middle wire of the 3 is a 12v power. From the manual "The center pin is an input only for switched 12v power, it is not to be used as a source for 12v power for external sensors".

I'll hook up the switched power to the center pin, and remove the jumper and see if that works

It is a great gauge. You won't be disappointed if you get yourself one.

Damn to think how not so used this gauge was about a year ago to seeing so many people with it now. What a change. Over on the other site it was just me and froggy with one and look how it blew up after that. It really is a great gauge.
