I'm happy with my vararam. Did it turn my truck into a hellcat? Nope. There was a little additional sound under wot acceleration, not alot but I didn't want anything real noisy. And yes, one side effect is when you pop the hood people not familiar with these trucks and more specifically these intakes think they look super cool. Not that it's all that important, but it does have a wow factor. Performance wise, maybe it added a little oomph, maybe not, but I have no complaints.
