When stepping on the accelerator pedal to the floor the boost drops from 20 to 0 PSI. The boost increases again when I release the foot of the pedal. When I got home and went to check the air filter it was according to the pictures below. Could this have caused the boost to drop to 0?

Boost? Are you supercharged or turbocharged? If not there is no boost. Vacuum at idle should be at least -20 and at wot there is no vacuum hence why it goes to 0. If your truck has no forced induction, those numbers are perfectly fine.

The air filter definitely shouldn't have been crumpled up like that though. Whoever did that shouldn't have their hands on any kind of vehicle lol.

Turbocharged. When stepping on the accelerator pedal to the floor the turbo boost pressure checked on bully dog drops from 20 to 0 PSI. The turbo boost pressure increases again when I release the foot of the pedal. Could the air filter be causing this turbo boost pressure drop to 0?

If your loosing boost with you CTD, your possibly having a wastegate issue. I would imagine that engine is falling on it's face without boost.

You shouldnt be in boost if you are not in the the throttle. Something sounds very wrong here.

Yeah I didn't see that it was a diesel we were talking about lol. Oops.

But yeah, definitely shouldn't be making boost at idle

diesel MAP sensors will read vacuum, I'm guessing the BullyDog doesn't show negative values or switch to in wc.
