Danny, you would really appreciate my assortment of magnets. I got one that looks like a mine sweep and a little pen size one that takes both hands to pull lose.

I lost air on a cylinder and dropped a valve.... Got the head off and retrieved the valve. Finished installing the new springs on that side. Going to town to pickup gaskets and bolt this morning. If it ain't one thing it's another. As for loosing air, all I can say is don't close the shop door on the hose. Hope to be back on track today or tomorrow. I'm not going to push. The good news is the local dealer is starting to become a good source for parts.

**** Happens Greg. I once realized that you need to take out the air valve in the compression tester hose I was using for it to actually pass air into the cylinder. luckily I realized that after I compressed the valve but it was dropping enough to not allow the keepers to come off. Subscribed and BTW the Magnum will be off the road for the Year after our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend (Monday) so I'll slip the Tires in dedication to Ol Reds recovery. Danny

Danny, sounds like you have something major planned for the Maggie?
Got the gaskets and bolts and installed the other eight springs so I'm ready tomorrow to bolt the head on and install the cam. Found a bad tension pulley and the new one just showed up along with some new Monroes. I'm almost ready to make some noise....

Got the head back on and the cam installed. Only grief I'm having is getting the lower bolt behind the engine mount started, may have to take the mount off to get my fingers in there.

Motor is about 95% complete, radiator being the only big piece to put back on. Still need to get one bolt on the header and install new front shocks.

Things went well today, Mounted all the accessories including the belt and then started plugging the harness in. Had to take the AC pump back off to get to the ECT sensor. Worked at getting the hidden header bolt in and it screwed right in Must have gotten lonely not being with his batch. Rained fairly hard all morning, nasty out. Good chance of making noise tomorrow.

Nice work Sir very nice. Sorry to read about the dropped valve, did you have that jug at TDC when that happened?

No, with the plugs and push rods all removed the engine rolls to BDC when air is put to the cylinder. I was just being careless, the compressor had shut down once before and I threw a wire tie on the valve stem before it became a problem. This time I wasn't paying attention and popped the valve seal off thinking it would hang for a moment. It dropped like a stone... lol

Redtruck lives!... Fired up with minimum hassle. Idle good, but need to lean out the tune a little. Will run it for a couple days and see if it adapt at all.
